The “Uncle Ted” lure is a reimagination of the traditional “Ned” rig. The “Uncle Ted” improves the Ned by re-designing the jig head hook with a patent pending design that inverts the hook into the “catch” position when vertically jigging. The conical end of the jig head is cast into the hook providing a secure locking mechanism. The hook eye protrudes from the insert molded soft plastic body to maintain a clean jigging presentation

Our Lure Design Philosophy
Light Tackle Anglers has designed the next generation of scientifically designed soft plastic lures for light tackle fishing.
All Light Tackle Anglers lures are ready to fish.
We insert-mold our lures from a super-elastic, cut proof and slick compound so that they slice through the water to act like a natural fleeing bait fish.
We’ve found that you only have so many minutes on the water so it’s better to tie on a lure and get fishing rather than have to worry about the correct jig head size, threading on a plastic body, then having to re-thread the plastic body because you put it on too short, or having it tear off while you’re trying to thread it onto the jig head.
Each Light Tackle Anglers lure is pre-rigged and ready to catch fish.
All of our lures are specifically designed for light tackle angling, either by spin fishing, or bait casting.
If you use a line that’s greater than 30 pounds, we’re probably not the lure for you, but if you enjoy catching fish on light tackle, these are your baits.
We don’t make trolling lures. We don’t make spoons or poppers. We make long casting, dependable, soft plastic lures for light tackle fishing.

Attractor Lures vs. Immitators
We make “attractor” lures.
While some companies might make realistic baits that look like fish with scales and eyes and fins, those have a tendency to sell the fishermen more than they sell the fish. Our tag line is “It’s the action that catches fish” so it’s the action of the bait that we built into every Light Tackle Anglers lure.
You’ll see that our baits are streamlined so they course through the water like a bait fish or a worm.
The truth is that fish have relatively poor eyesight and very small brains. The actions of a fish are essentially due to one of three things, either flee from a predator, to attack a known bait fish for its next meal or to take no action when they see a rock in the water or a moving piece of kelp, seaweed or weeds in the lake bed.
Modern soft plastic compounds give us the ability over other materials to replicate the true action of a fleeing baitfish. This is why Light Tackle Anglers only makes premium soft plastic lures designed with the action that you need in order to catch the most fish.
We’ve picked the colors with attracting glitters and shades that our experience tells us provide the most compelling response from the apex predators that you are looking to catch.
A shape of a natural bait fish is designed to quickly propel it through the water and turn in cases of an attack from an apex predator, the same apex predators that we’re trying to catch every day. Scales on a natural fish are designed to cut through the water, not provide resistance. Any lures with dimples or scales will provide resistance in the water and make the bait actually behave less like a true bait fish.
All Light Tackle Angler lures are slick in order to propel them through the water, giving them the action of a fleeing bait fish. This is done through retrieve techniques or through the natural curves and elliptical bends we’ve designed into our lures.

The “Mister” series of stick baits represents another improvement in soft plastic bait design. Instead of needing a separate jig head and a bag of plastic bodies, the Mister is a durable 1-piece insert molded lure. The key to the Mister is it’s elliptical shape. Unlike trying to clone the look of a bait fish, the Mister is design to replicate the “action” of a bait fish. The Mister incorporates a 10 degree offset in the body, distal to the the hook bend. This gives the Mister a natural swimming action on a straight retrieve. The offset in the body, combined with the transfer balanced head of the Mister is where it gets real crazy. A subtle or aggressive twitch of the rod tip makes the Mister dodge and dart like a baitfish trying to flee an apex predator.
The “Mister” stick bait’s head maintains the elliptical shape of the body, with the added feature of providing body compound positive retention features to lock the soft plastic body into the head assembly. The “Mister” jig head is made from a lead-free, non-toxic alloy, and each bait is designed with specific head weight/body weight balance.
The “Mister: series bodies are made from the same super-elastic, cut proof insert molded elastomer as all our baits.
